Dog Rehabilitation Program

The Humane Society Calumet Area is looking for experienced dog handlers who would like to assist in our Dog Rehabilitation Program. We are looking for volunteers who can consistently come to the HSCA Intake Center on a scheduled daily or weekly bawsis to help with the rehabilitation process of dogs that are having behavioral issues. Patience, compassion, consistency and a willingness to make difference are essential in program volunteers. If you are interested, please contact Tony at 219-836-2583.

Shelter Guide Help guests find their new family member

Bathers Get the animals ready for their new family with a bath on adoption day.

Special Events We have various events throughout the year - fashion show, book sales, bake sales, etc. We always need helping hands.

Foster Families Can you help care for our special needs pets? From babies to seniors, we always need loving homes to care for them while they get healthy.

Do you have a hobby or skill you would like to share with the animals? Volunteers have offered their mural painting skills, mechanical knowledge, design experience and various other specialized knowledge to the shelter. You can probably use your unique talents or interests to help the animals.
