*Because HSCA does not euthanize animals to make room for new arrivals, we can only take in as many animals as we adopt out. This means that when our cages are full, we are unable to take any additional animals. Please call in advance to check cage availability.
HSCA's intake center is located on the west side of the adoption center at 421 45th Ave, Munster, IN 46321
Monday: closed to the public
Tuesday-Saturday: noon-5 p.m.
Sunday: closed to the public
HSCA's Intake Center opened October 1, 2009 to serve as a separate facility for new intakes and sick or injured animals. The facility helps reduce the number of animals in the general population that are sick. It also provides a transitional place for new arrivals.

There are currently no licensed wildlife rehabilitators in Lake County, Ind. Only licensed rehabilitators can legally care for orphaned or injured wildlife. Before you touch or move wildlife in distress, call Moraine Ridge Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at 219.299.8027. They can best direct you as to how you can assist the animal.
